My Story
Hi, my name is Gracie. I started dance when I was 4 years old. The first style of dance I learnt was ballet and I just kept adding on from there. Now I do styles such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop and acrobatics. I also used to do tap and song and dance. My favorite style would be ballet but I love all styles. I do around 14 hours of dance each week, all fitting into my school and other activities.
As you probably already know, I have this website and my Instagram @barreandbop. Now you might be wondering why I’m doing all of this. To be honest, I don’t really know exactly. It was actually just a project I dreamed up together with my Mum during Melbourne’s COVID lockdowns. Something related to dance, which is what I love. Dancing makes me happy and keeps me fit, and I thought it would be good to share some of my stories and experiences with you, and hopefully inspire and connect with other passionate or aspiring dancers.
Aside from dancing, I believe it’s important to look after ourselves. I am not always that good at this, but I know that if I keep active and eat healthy, my body will thank me for it. Be kind to your body and be kind to each other. Dance often. Stay healthy. Love life.
“Dancers don’t need wings to fly”
I found my passion in dance at a young age. Dance is what keeps me uplifted and happy.
