Why Dance
The reasons one chooses to dance is different for all people. Some people might not like dance, and I accept that everyone is different, but being the little bias ballerina I am, I’m going to tell you why I believe dance is such a good sport.
Okay, the first thing you need to know about dance is that you’re the one in control. Even if your teacher gives you a correction you still have the freedom to dance it in your own way. You don’t have to be perfect all the time, you don’t have to just move like a Barbie doll.
Next are fun and fitness. Simple, treadmill at home = boring, not fun. Having a chat to your friends = fun, but no fitness. Easy solution - dance! You get to hangout with your friends (unless it’s a solo, haha) and have fun and let all your worries go away for the time you are dancing.
Dance is something that you can do anywhere, indoors or outdoors . The outdoors is great. But one of the advantages of indoor studios is that when it gets too hot, with the flick of a switch the whole room can relax in cool breezy air. Vice versa if it’s too cold. But I think you wouldn’t really need heating because you will already be warm from working so hard!
Last but not least, dancing allows people to express themselves, and no matter the mood of the dance, being able to release energy and emotion through dance brings happiness and joy to both dancers and their audiences alike.
